Generally speaking, coconut shell activated carbon is the first choice for gold extraction activated carbon on the market. The reason is that it not only can absorb more gold per ton of activated carbon, but also has better hardness and wear resistance. For water treatment, the challenge is far lower than that of gold carbon, but it can be inferred that activated carbon with better hardness will be better for water treatment.
Coconut shell activated carbon is used for gold carbon. The iodine adsorption value is generally 1000, 1100, 1200, and the particle size is 6-12 mesh, 4-8 mesh and 6-8 mesh are more common.
The coconut shell activated carbon for water treatment has the same iodine adsorption value, but the particle size is more biased towards small particle size. The more common ones are 12-30 mesh, 10-24 mesh, 8-30 mesh, and of course 4-8 mesh is also useful.
